Delilah combed her blazing red hair over her shoulder and tied it up in a side ponytail. She looked at herself in the mirror, happy with her appearance, she left the Gryffindor common room. It was seven thirty in the morning, and it was very humid out. Delilah was wearing a tennis-like white skirt, and a nice, poofy, cotton, gold shirt. She was wearing her maroon slip ons, and she walked out into the hallway. It was a Sunday afternoon, September Fifth. She had no date for the upcoming school ball. She needed to get one, fast.
Delilah lingered through the halls, deciding where a nice, shady spot would be. And she picked a perfect place, the Entrance Hall. She opened up the castle doors and burst through into the open nature, taking a whiff of the summer air. She plastered a beautiful toothy grin on her face and sat down on a ledge and crossed her legs. It was very windy, and she let her hair whip out of her ponytail, she giggled and rested her head back, letting the wind hit her.
She sat up for a minute, and got up, kicking her feet on the ground. She got up and started twirling around. It felt nice, having the wind and your skirt twirl together. Delilah stopped twirling, out of breath. Panting, she whipped around and leaned her back against a big ledge, grinning.
Delilah wasn't really an outdoorsy type. But ever since her first year at Hogwarts, she had a sudden obsession to get outside. She loved the air, she loved the water, she loved- wait. The water... Should she take a swim? Maybe later. Delilah went back to her happy thoughts and kept thinking about stuff. She sat on the ledge again, pushing her feet against the parallel wall.
As though she was dozing off into a nice sleep, she awoke with alert as a blast of wind hit her right in the face. She checked her silver watch with red and gold encrusted jewels. It was only eight thirty. Delilah gave a sing-song sigh and shrugged. She got up again and started to walk along the bridge, a bit bored now.

It had only been five days since he came to Hogwarts for another year at school. He already felt like his usual outsider. No things are going to change this year, he wouldn't feel blue and moody all year long. He was going to get out and enjoy life.
He slid out of bed and rummaged in his trunk for his dark blue docker jeans. They were really wrinkled since he just tossed everything into his trunk. Oh well, what did he care about 'looking good'. He reached deeper into his trunk and found his gray shirt. It fit him tight against his toned body and he did have to admit to himself that despite his wrinkle look, he did look pretty good.
Slowly he made his way up from the basement Slytherin common room intending on going to breakfast, but as he reached the Great Hall he realized he wasn't hungry. He looked out the windows and saw that it was beautiful outside. This would probably be one of the last sunny days before it got cold. He might as well enjoy the sun and warmth.
So out of the Entrance Hall he goes. He stops short when he sees a girl with flaming red hair. He had seen her from time to time in the halls, it was hard not to notice a beautiful color like that. She seemed to be enjoying herself. Maybe he shouldn't interrupt her after all.
"Hey, I'm Erik." He said simply. Her hair seemed to shine in the sunshine and Erik rather liked looking at it. It reminded him of his own little sunshine. "I don't think we have ever formally met." He said bowing.
His good for nothing parents had at least taught him one thing, and that was etiquette, which he did at all points and time, no sense to be rude and discouraging to a young lady.

Delilah sat up on the bridge's ledge and leaned back and forth. "Hey, I'm Erik." A boy said. Delilah's eyes blinked open, and she hopped down from the ledge, skipping over to the Erik boy. Delilah grinned, turning pink. She always blushed when she met someone new. "Hello, Erik! I'm Delilah! Nice to meet you!" she replied, looking at the boy nose to toes.
Delilah's eyes stopped at the boy's pants. They were so... soft looking. She grinned. "I like your pants," she said smiling sweetly, and looking up at the tall boy. She twirled around dreamily and sat back on the edge of the bridge, singing softly. She patted the stone beside her, so Erik could sit down.
The wind was rough today, and her vibrantly orange hair whipped around in the air around her. She laughed to herself. It kind of looked funny. "So Erik, do you like it here at Hogwarts?" she asked, curiously. The boy looked a bit glum. She wondered why. Maybe it was because Erik wanted to be a muggle. But who would want that! Delilah's thoughts were spinning around when a wind hit her so hard she almost fell off the bridge.
Delilah caught herself, and sat back on the bridge. She turned a deep red, almost as red as her hair, and she smiled. "Oopsies!" she said laughing.

Delilah. Thats a nice name, a name you don't hear often. Erik looked down at his pants. There was nothing special about them. "Thanks, that's kind of you to say. I think they are terribly wrinkled, but oh well." Erik said shrugging.
She had patted the bridge next to where she was sitting. He strolled over toward her and sat down. "Yeah, I like Hogwarts, but I feel that things could be better." Erik said shrugging. It was more that that thought, he thought.
Erik reached out for her when the wind almost knocked her off the bridge but she regained her own balance on her own. Her face went scarlet.
Erik gave a small chuckle. "Clumsy much?" Erik asked laughing. Erik considered himself 'graceful' but what did he know. He could easily sneak up on people without meaning to, and he could blend in with shadows.

"Hey, I'm so not clumsy," she said gradually, catching her breath. She giggled. She looked at him, smiling. "I know this is a bit last minute," she said breathing heavily, looking at him nervously. Delilah bit the corner of her bottom lip, and knew this was a little awkward, but she continued to talk. "But would you like to go to the ball with me on September twentieth?" she asked him politely.
Delilah gave him a small shrug. "I mean, you don't have to, I know you hardly know me and everything, but- hm. I don't know," she said, trying to keep her smile on, and not blush again. She flatened out her skirt in the waiting for his response.
She looked off into the distance, trying to kill some time. Why does this boy take so long when given questions. Okay, okay. So Delilah and this Erik hardly knew eachother. But Delilah didn't want to go alone. Even Hagrid would probably have a date. So she needed to do this quickly and easy. Delilah regained her strength, she was so nervous. It'd be utterly embarrassing if he turned her down.

"No your not clumsy, just a little balance challenged." Erik said laughing. What happened next took him by slight surprise.
"Oh, yeah I would like to go with you. Maybe that way we can get to know each other." Erik said smiling. He could tell she had been anticipating his answer.
Erik looked at her and could tell a blush was just under the skin. He could really like a girl like this. Not a care in the world, fun and happy. That might get him out of the funk he has been in for a while now. "Do you know if we are supposed to wear dress robes, or just regular clothes, or just our normal Hogwarts robes?"
Erik didn't really know. He usually never went to these things, but now he was kind of looking forward to it.
