Sunset's can be so dramatic

Erik stood looking out over the black lake as the sun began to set. He had talked to Delilah and broke it off with her, she may be beautiful, but they didn't really get along, not like him and Cassidy did anyway. He had made it clear that he really wanted to be with her, but she was dating Potter. He sighed as he saw the different color clouds slowly darken. Maybe Cassidy would come out here and talk to him, he had asked her to eariler and he doubted she would lead him on like that.

Cassidy was feeling great. The sunset was gleamin like a diamond, it was beautiful. She had finished her dinner, telling Tabitha she'd cath up with her later. Hogwarts had the most beautiful grounds, the lake and trees, sigh.

Cassidy led herself out of the doors following the familliar path to the lake. Erik had asked her to meet him there. She obviously would.

She spotted her friend. "Hi Erik," She paused, standing next to him. "Whats new?"

Erik's anxieties seemed to melt with Cassidy's hello. He looked down at her and smiled. "Oh nothing." Erik said quickly, to quickly, Cassidy would know something was up. Maybe he should just tell her about Delilah.

"well actually there is something. Delilah and I kind of broke up." Erik said shrugging looking back over the black lake. What would she make of this? Erik chanced a glance down at her to see her reaction.

Cassidy sat down on the lakeshore. She bit her lip. "Thats.... nice." She closed her eyes. "Harry and I are done." Cassidy swallowed. "Was it painfull?" Cass looked away. "Mine was."

Cassidy couldn't help it, but tears poured out.

Erik was shocked to see that Harry and Cassidy broke up as well. She started to cry. Erik pulled her into a hug. "Shh, it's okay Cassidy, it really wasn't that hard for me, but we really didn't have that much in common. I'm really sorry about you and Harry." Erik felt horrible that Cassidy was crying over that....well anyways. "Don't cry Cassidy everything will be okay." He pulled her closer to him and just let her cry it all out.

Cassidy sobbed. "It's not okay! I loved him... I knew him since ever... it's just-just" Cassidy broke off. She embraced Erik's hug. Cassidy smiled. "You are a great friend. I love you as my best friend." She hugged him back, the teras strating to disapear.

Cassidy just made his heart plunge into his stomach. Love him as a best friend, pshhh. "I know it's not okay, but it will be. I'm here for you, and I'll take care of you. I know you have know him for a long time, he was the one to bring you into the magical world." 'and to me' Erik thought. "You just have to lean on me. I'll make everything right."

Cassidy sighed and pulled away. "I know, he-it was- it is hard to go away. He was perfect, maybe the next one is closer than I think." She looked into the sun. She smiled. She knew, somewhere her love would be there.

"What do you mean, the next one? Already planning on dating someone else, maybe someone you know?" Erik said hinting a little bit, but not much.
Erik felt chilly now that Cassidy had left his side. He wanted to reach out and pull her back to him, but resised the urge. "He wasn't perfect for you Cass or he wouldn't have broken your heart. You need someone who would never do that to you." 'I never would' Erik almost added on to the last part.

Cassidy smiled. She shook her head. "I know, maybe he wasn't perfect." She giggled. "Well, I'm back on my horse, ready for anything!!"
Maybe that Jake dude, but only if it's ok with Tabitha...
She hugged Erik, feeling lonely again. As she touched his skin, she felt a little jolt.

Erik couldn't take it anymore. She was hugging him and her face was so close to his. He just bent his head down and pushed his lips to hers. He wanted to stay like this forever so he wouldn't have to see her face with anger in her eyes that Erik knew was about to come. It had surprised him that she didn't push him back yet though, maybe this was okay after all.

Cassidy suddenly felt.... weird. One way to discribe herself. She felt confusion buzz in her head. Why was Erik kissing her? Surprise, surprise. You just won your best friend! Um... I'd rather him not as my boyfriend. Cassidy knew this was, different, in a different way.

"Erik!?!" Cass said as she pulled away. "What are you doing?"

Erik was pushed away and gave a slight grin which fell off his face at her outrage. "I'm sorry Cass." Erik said quietly. Erik was usually good about controlling his emotions, but this just got the better of him. "I don't know why I just did that, I thought it might help you out." Erik said stright faced, but thoughts of 'Whoooo hooo' were going through his mind, so it was hard to keep the straight face.

Cassidy looked away, her hand cvering her mouth. She shook her head. Friends. Just Friends. Cass turned around. "Um... let me decide me feelings and while I do that, this never happened." Ooh, she had to tell Tabitha this. Good thing she wasn't the gossip type!

Erik did feel bad now. "Look Cass, I'm really sorry, but you can't think this didn't happen, it did, but dont' worry I won't go telling people." Erik shrugged his shoulders. Maybe acting out on this wasn't the best thing. "Do you want to talk to me about it?"
